Make It Yourself : Kefir & Kombucha workshop with Treasa

FRIDAY 7 NOVEMBER 7-8 PM
We recently enjoyed an amazing workshop with Treasa, learning how to make our own kefir and kombucha! The class was full of hands-on tips and fascinating fermentation insights. By the end, we tasted Treasa’s delicious creamy kefir and refreshing kombucha, and each participant received a kefir starter to take home. A fun, educational, and truly nourishing experience.
That’s life at the DFC.

Pride at the Dublin Food Coop: An Evening with Dil Wickremasinghe

THU 19 JUNE 6:30 PM
Such a special Pride celebration as we mark 10 years since Ireland made history by becoming the first country to legalise marriage equality by popular vote—a powerful affirmation of love, dignity, and inclusion. For this occasion we welcomed Dil Wickremasinghe—psychotherapist, broadcaster, and founder of Insight Matters. Dil will shared her inspiring personal journey, from coming out and overcoming adversity to creating an inclusive, modern family and a groundbreaking therapy centre. The evening included a screening of her short film and a vibrant conversation on identity, love, and the ongoing fight for equality. Thank you Dil for sharing your life's experience with us!

Annual General Meeting 2025 (AGM)

SUN 22 JUNE 10AM - 2 PM
Our AGM isn’t just a financial update about numbers and money: it’s so much more. It’s a moment for members to come together, make decisions, vote, and elect the Coordinating Body. It’s a time to dream together about our shared future.

It’s also a joyful gathering—a chance to share a meal, a laugh, and celebrate the strength of our community.

We are our strength.
It was such a beautiful event—thank you to everyone who took part.

RETELLING RALAHINE: A Theatrical Tribute to Ireland’s Cooperative Roots

SAT 31 MAY - 1PM
We hosted a powerful reading of “Retelling Ralahine”, performed by the Organic Intellectuals and led by our member Patrick Doyle. The play, written by Margaretta D’Arcy and John Arden, tells the story of the Ralahine Commune (1831–1833) — Ireland’s first cooperative. It offered moving insights into shared land, collective decisions, and the roots of our cooperative values. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated — we’re proud to be a space for bold ideas and meaningful connection.

Potluck & Possibilities: An Evening of Community and Vision

SUN 25 MAY 2025 FROM 1PM

As part of Streetfeast Festival, we hosted a special Potluck and Brainstorming Session (an evening of shared food, conversation, and live music). Together, we reflected on who we are as a Co-op and imagined what we could become over the next five years. Members and volunteers—new and longtime—shared ideas on deepening our impact, strengthening our values, and building a more inclusive, resilient community. The lunch was made even more special with a live performance by Claudio from Our Team, bringing connection and joy to a truly inspiring evening.
