We have been offering products without plastic for decades
In 1983, the Dublin Food Co-operative was formed to provide people of Dublin with an option to buy in bulk to reduce the carbon footprint and share the costs. Food Sovereignty means that the people have a choice and connection to how their food is bought and supplied.
Bring your own containers
Don’t forget to bring your own containers with you when you visit the co-op.
We are moving towards offering more options to buy without plastic packaging. We have lots of produce that you can buy using your own containers, help yourself directly from our gravity bins.
We offer a huge range of products through our Zero Waste gravity bins. Just bring your own containers, bags or if you don’t have any, buy some of the different size cotton bags that we have for sale.
Buy Only what you need
Food waste is a huge issue in Ireland. We throw away on average €700 worth of food per household into our waste systems. Most of this waste is due to having to buy too much food and not using it before it goes to waste.
