This set of cards is presented in a box. This box is made with sustainable card, the stickers on it are made with recycled paper. Each card is printed in Ireland on recycled card with brown recycled envelopes.
Edition of seven cards featuring pencil drawings. Six of the cards display drawings of native Irish trees: rowan, oak, birch, scots pine, holly and hawthorn and one non native - the spruce, which was added to reflect its widespread presence in our forests. Five trees have recognisable northern hemisphere winter constellations hung on the branches while two sparkle with various constellations if we were to look North or South in late December.
Since ancient times lights have been hung on trees to represent the connection to the cosmos, first as candles and then as festoons or fairy lights. By bringing trees with lights into a home during the month of December representing a primal need to connect with nature and to bring a little bit of this magical spirit into the home.
This set is A5 in size so that they may be framed after they are received. They are printed on premium 350 grams recycled paper and are uncoated so that they are compostable and eco friendly. They are blank inside for your own message. They are provided with recycled brown paper envelopes and wrapped in acid free paper with flax twine for minimal packaging.
These cards are intended as a way to celebrate nature in winter or an alternative Christmas card. While the drawings reference winter and the seasons holidays, they are not overly Christmassy so that they may be framed for year round use.
The birch and oak drawings have been updated since the 2020 edition and texts on the back of the cards have also been updated.
