New Appointments at the Co-op

Aoife Hammond (General Manager) and Sam Toland (Co-op Secretary) outside the Co-op.

Patrick Flynn is the current Chair of the Co-ordinating Body, the voluntary board of the Dublin Food Co-op elected by our members.

As members know, the Dublin Food Co-op advertised the positions of General Manager and Co-operative Secretary with the intention of placing them on a more permanent footing after the move to Kilmainham.

The Dublin Food Co-op advertised these positions nationally and had nearly twenty applicants for the general manager position and over fifty applicants for the co-operative secretary position. Who knew that our Co-op was such an attractive place to work!

Helen Halpin of Forde HR (a HR consultancy) shortlisted the candidates on our behalf. Helen was joined by two Co-ordinating Body members alongside Siobhan Cafferty (as an independent external expert) to make up the interview panel.

After a rigorous interview process, I am pleased to announced the appointment of Aoife Hammond as our new permanent General Manager and Sam Toland as our new permanent Co-operative Secretary.

Both are familiar to us in the Dublin Food Co-op through their work over the years and the external panel members complimented the expertise they have brought to their respective roles to date. They also commented on how fortunate we were to have them as part of our community.

I am sure you will join me in congratulating them both and in wishing them, and indeed our Food Co-op, every success in the future.
