Members’ Affairs Committee Meeting September 4th
As you might have seen from previous emails and blog posts, there is great momentum behind the Members’ Affairs Committee (MAC) initiative. Having an open, common space where ideas can be discussed and listened to on a regular basis is something that everyone agrees on. What other better way to strengthen our community and create valuable relationships if not through collaboration and open conversations?
After a successful online MAC meeting earlier this year and several other planning workshops, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting another event, this time … (you guessed it) … in person! Although there is a small chance the guidelines might change, we plan to meet on 4th of September at Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA). The event will start at 10:00am and will last for 90 minutes. The meeting point and venue will be The People’s Pavilion.
The main objective is to create a safe space where we can re-connect, meet new people and also share ideas about topics that matter to us. Although the event is intended to be very flexible and accommodate the needs of the group on the day, we propose the following format:
- Introductions (10 minute)
- Open group discussion (30 minutes)
- Targeted group discussion (30 minutes)
- Summary and wrap-up (20 minutes)

For the targeted group discussion a number of topics have been put forward in previous meetings. However, this list is not exhaustive and we encourage you to send us suggestions. Current topics proposed include: DFC Purchasing Policy; DFC policy on products from Israel. If possible please review DFC’s Purchasing Policy ahead of the meeting.
If you would like to propose any other topics please let us know. At the beginning of the event we will revisit all of them and decide which one(s) we would like to cover on the day.
For this and any other queries please get in touch with us at membersaffairs@dublinfood.coop.
We are extremely excited to be able to host this event in person and we look forward to seeing as many of you there. Together we are stronger.
You can read more of the background of the Members’ Affairs Committee and its goals in this blog post.
In advance of the meeting you may like to review our Purchasing Policy, which will be relevant to the discussion.
