Cherry Orchard Farm Visit
A visit to Cherry Orchard Community Gardens for Dublin Food Co-op members.
We are delighted to be able to invite members on a farm visit.
Over the past 2 years Dublin Food Co-op’s Produce Supervisor Niamh has been working hard with Irish farmers to build our selection of locally grown fruit and veg, developing grow plans and finding new leads to supply us. One of the relationships she has developed is with Cherry Orchard Community Gardens, just west along the canal from us. They are about one kilometre away as the crow flies, and our nearest grower of fresh produce.
Peadar from the Community Gardens has invitied members of the Co-op for a farm visit to see the project, learn about the valuable work they are doing and have a get together talking about what we love – community, and food! Our first visit will be on the morning of Wednesday August 11th, and we are planning more later this month and in September.
In line with social distancing precautions we will have a maximum of 10 visitors on each day, so please make sure to book your spot in advance. It is of course, free to attend.
We will meet at Community Gardens from 10.45am, and the tour starts at 11am. See you then!
Please note – this event has been rescheduled from the original date of Wed 11th August.
