A visit to Cherry Orchard Community Gardens for Dublin Food Co-op.

We are delighted to be able to invite you on our third farm visit this autumn.

Peadar from the Community Gardens has invited members of the Co-op for a farm visit to see the project, learn about the valuable work they are doing and have a get together talking about what we love – community, and food! This will be our second visit to the project. Our first trip in August was thoroughly enjoyable and we’re looking forward to visiting again.

Over the past 2 years Dublin Food Co-op’s Produce Supervisor Niamh has been working hard with Irish farmers to build our selection of locally grown fruit and veg, developing grow plans and finding new leads to supply us. A key relationship she has developed is with Cherry Orchard Community Gardens, just west along the canal from us. They are one of our very nearest growers of fresh produce.

If you would like a taster of what you can see when you visit Cherry Orchard was featured on Nationwide on a sunny day in September, you can watch that here.

In line with social distancing precautions we will have a maximum of 10 visitors, so please make sure to book your spot in advance. It is of course, free to attend.

We will meet at the entrance to the Community Gardens from 2.45pm, the tour starts at 3pm.
Looking forward to seeing you then!
