Dublin Food Co-op is run by our dedicated staff and volunteers working together as a team to provide the best service possible to our members and wider community.

Volunteer roles in the Co-op
Our shop volunteers stock shelves, operate tills, check off invoices, keep the shop tidy, keep our zero waste area stocked up and set up our fruit and veg area. There is also plenty of time for chatting to members and having a cup of tea with other volunteers and staff!

Our welcome desk team welcomes all of our visitors into the Co-op. They provide visitors with up to date information about the Co-op and assist members with queries. This is a very social role – great if you love to chat!

Our communications team is active on our social media generating content for our website and blog. Volunteers on this team contribute to communications plans and strategies.
Volunteers are invited to contribute their photographs, designs or illustrations to the Co-op’s library of images for use across all our communications streams. Volunteers are also able to contribute content by writing articles or sharing their recipes to be featured on the Co-op’s blog. Articles can be about an area they are already familiar with, or something they research specifically for the Co-op.
Events volunteers organise Co-op talks, workshops and social events. Alternatively they can work at events, welcoming members and visitors and helping to set up and close down. Our event volunteers can also facilitate “Talkin’ Co-op” – Talks in which members get to discuss Co-op life, operations and organisation.
Although we do not currently have in person events, these volunteers can get involved in hosting online events, film screenings and talks
